Voyage through Neva river to Bogoslovka estate

Against the current of the Neva, we'll travel through all of St. Petersburg, go beyond the city limits, and stop at the museum of wooden architecture, where a 25-domed wooden church stands. We'll sail through all layers of the city: we'll see palaces, extremely expensive houses, old industrial St. Petersburg, residential areas, and country estates. We'll immediately see what appeared in which historical period and, most importantly – we'll race through the ENTIRE St. Petersburg Neva.

This voyage is created for the curious! In 4 hours, we'll sail by boat along the Neva through all of St. Petersburg: from the Gulf of Finland to the Cable-stayed Bridge. As with any good journey – you need to travel somewhere. For the destination of this voyage, we've chosen the Bogoslovka estate. This is a museum of wooden architecture, with a church like the one in Kizhi on Lake Onega. It's very conveniently located 5 kilometers from the city. Thus, it turns out that this will be a tour of St. Petersburg by boat and a bit of the suburbs: we'll see the entire city, and then get out to stretch our legs and look at wooden beauty. Then we'll return the same way – by boat along the Neva to St. Petersburg.

The value of this voyage is in the journey itself: it's as if we're cutting through a tree trunk, passing through annual rings one after another. We have the same thing, only with St. Petersburg. Since the city grew by the river, all the main buildings are visible from the Neva. Traveling by boat along the Neva, the main river of St. Petersburg, we'll see how the city changes and how epochs replace each other. Ceremonial St. Petersburg will be replaced by industrial St. Petersburg, then elite houses will appear, Stalinist quarters, some Khrushchev-era buildings, modern high-density housing complexes and industrial enterprises, the river port and country estates, and finally, we'll arrive at Bogoslovka. Throughout the 30 kilometers of this private boat tour, St. Petersburg never ceases to amaze with its diversity of views. We'll disembark at the pier, and within a few minutes, we'll arrive at the 'Bogoslovka Estate' museum. On the territory of the former estate of the imperial confessor Dubyansky, they have placed restored masterpieces of wooden architecture from Northern Russia. These include the Church of the Intercession of the Holy Mother of God. The original church built in 1708 was located in the Vologda region, but burned down in 1963. Stones from its foundation were transported and laid here, at the reconstruction site. Now the 25-domed architectural wonder, built to a 1:1 scale, rises above the banks of the Neva. In Bogoslovka, they have also restored the house of E.A. Kostin, built on Lake Onega in the second half of the 19th century, and the Chapel of the Savior Not Made by Hands, which stood in the Arkhangelsk region. It's good that measurements of these buildings were preserved – now we can see them too. It's worth noting that our boat tour of St. Petersburg will proceed at full speed, so the sights will change regularly, and the trip will be remembered for its dynamism and cultural richness.
